Natural RemediesPregnancy and Weight Gain - For Pregnant Women on Diets
Being pregnant means you are going to have another person living inside of you for 9 months. So of course you will gain weight, but not everyone wants to accept this. It is very important though to realize how important it is to gain weight for you and the baby.
While you are pregnant in this first trimester you may gain up to 11 pounds, this is completely normal, it is due to the extra water weight, blood weight, the growth of your muscles, and your body's storage of fat. You will continue to gain weight throughout the rest of your pregnancy at a fairly regular rate. Your doctor will keep you notified as to how much of a weight gain you have had at each appointment.
Although it will depend on your weight prior to pregnancy how much you should gain, the main point is that you should almost always gain weight. Regardless of having morning sickness in the first few months, even if you are overweight you should gain 15 pounds at the least. For women who are not overweight, or underweight, it is recommended to gain up to 35 pounds.
An overview of the weight you will gain is listed below:
The baby should weigh at the end between seven and a half pounds and eight and a half pounds. 7.5-8.5
The amniotic fluid will only weigh about two pounds. 2
The placenta will weigh up to two pounds also. 2
Another two pounds will come in breast tissue. 2
Over all you will gain three pounds of blood. 3
Your muscle in your uterus will gain two and a half pounds. 2.5
Your water gain will be about four pounds. 4
Much needed fat you will gain will be up to eight pounds. 8
You can still exercise and diet while you are pregnant, but you should be careful to make sure you are eating at a healthy rate. You should take in an extra 200 calories a day when you are pregnant. If you want to exercise while you are pregnant yoga or pilates are a good choice, make sure to start doing it right from the beginning, once you get into your second trimester it will be difficult if not impossible to lay on your back without seeing black, the only way to really get past this is to have already started in the first trimester.
Making sure you gain enough weight while pregnant but not too much is very important to your's and the baby's health. You can visit us at http://www.pregnancy.withtips.com to sign up for our free e-course on a healthy pregnancy. | |
